Time To Challenge Yourself!

Today I am going to talk about challenges.


Edmund Hillary once said, “It’s not the mountain we conquer but ourselves”. Challenges are a part of life. Challenging ourselves is what makes come out of our comfort zone and improving ourselves. I always believe that we do not have to prove ourselves but constantly improve ourselves. Because proving yourselves will make you momentarily happy but improving yourself will make you a lifelong learner as well as will make you capable to achieve much more things in your life. Basically challenge means an activity which will force you to come out of your comfort zone and perform.


Challenging yourself, in a long run will make you mentally tough. Well in today’s world people have become very weak. Most of the people are suffering from victimitis excusitis. Infected person acts as a victim in every situation and will make excuse for everything. You will br fascinated to know that in order to succeed we need just a small amount of mental toughness. To make yourself mentally tough challenges are required. So challenges are going take up the ladder of success. The key to success is to constantly challenge yourself.


There are many benefits of challenging yourself. They are as follows:

1. Self discipline: This is the word which separates winners and ordinary people.When you hear this term, people like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs etc. will come in your mind. Self discipline is most important key to success. When you challenge yourself, self discipline gets built on its own. When you complete the challenge you have displayed a work ethic and your devotion towards your goal. You self esteem increases and you feel happy about yourself.


2. Knowledge and skills: Whenever you compete with yourself, you learn about yourself and things related to the challenge. You acquire skills. After learning skills related to your challenge you will be motivated to learn more things. This will make you a lifelong learner which is one of the trait of successful people.


3. Experience: Experience is one of the best things to happen. You gain many experiences in whole life. While you perform a challenge you gain new experiences. For example, to run a marathon, to cook , go for a trek in mountains etc. Julius Caesar said, “Experience is the teacher of all things”. We learn many things from experience than from teacher or mentor. By experiencing uncomfortable situations you are training your mind to become more and more resilient.


4. Improves your health: Challenging yourself improves both your physical health as well as mental health. And if you are physically and mentally well you can achieve great things. Also by challenging yourself physically will make you both resilient and strong. You will feel like you are invincible and your longevity will also increase. By being healthy you will remain happy and peaceful.


According to me these were the benefits of challenging yourself. But this things will not come to you if you do not challenge yourself and come over them. When you start doing things that challenge you, you will develop warrior mentality. This type of mentality is what will lead you towards success. Robin Sharma said,” Keep Challenging yourself to think better, do better, and be better."
