My name is Dev and today I am going to talk about curiosity.
Curiosity is that itch to find the answer of the question. Being curious is a wonderful thing because you question everything and you try to find answers. It keeps our brain busy and away from crappy things. I think that curiosity is like a muscle. The more you ask questions the more curious you are. Curiosity acts as a booster in learning. Now the question arises that how to ask more questions.
Learning becomes a lot easier when it is interesting. To make it interesting, one needs to be curious to learn the subject. Curiosity acts as a bridge between what you know and what you want to know. I believe that more knowledge leads us to ask more questions making us more curious. The more you learn more curious you will be about the subject. Also if you are very curious about a subject, you can make a career out of it. Many people claim that curiosity is diminished by schools. Well I think this notion is crap. Schools don’t diminish curiosity, we do this to ourselves by becoming lazy. We have to start seeing everything as a mystery and find answers to it. We have many sources from where we can find answers.
In order to become more curious, one needs to actively question everything around them like how taps work, how are papers made, where does the word shampoo come from, etc. Once you start asking questions you will remain active and excited all the times and you will be ready to learn anything. I think the best way to gain knowledge is to read more and more. Remember if you want to learn anything , start with the original scientific books in the particular field. And progress to reading advanced books.
You need to follow your natural curiosity. In order to do this, one needs to explore a lot and keep an open mind. Even if you know about something read like you don’t know anything about it. It will surely boost your curiosity. We cannot always control how knowledge is presented to ourselves but if we see carefully there’s always a deeper layer of questions and answers, mysteries are to be solved which makes even dull topics very interesting.
To conclude, in order to become more curious learn more but don’t consume information blindly, understand it, imagine it and ponder upon it.
