Micro Habits

Habits are an essential part of humankind. Many people have succeeded due to their positive habits which shaped their future and life. Also habits help us  spiritually. They enhance ourselves and nurture our brain. Once an activity is repeated consistently it becomes a habit and thus this activities uses less brain power which lets us explore more of ourselves. But in today's day and age it has become very difficult to form habits especially when we are surrounded by distractions. Also we all are suffering from the habit of making excuses.

When we try to form new habits or enhance the current habit we set unrealistic expectations and at the end we fail to perform that habit and we feel terrible about ourselves.  But if we use the right approach and determination towards it we can easily form a habit. We can use the concept of micro habits to form a habit.We have to break down the habit into small parts and try to achieve them. In long term it will result in the formation of the desired habit. You have to perform it everyday for a small time interval and do it consistently. For example, if I want to start the habit of reading I have to read at least one page a day. Gradually I need to increase the number of pages I read everyday. It will result into a reading habit in long term.

If a day comes when you don't want to perform the micro habit you have planned used the 2 minute rule. Just do the activity for 2 min.

It will also get compounded and will not break the chain.
