How To Elevate Your Life?
The answer to the question is simple “Own your morning.”
Today we all have become “cyberzombies”. It means that we all are busy in operating the small computer which we call mobile phones. Excessive use of mobile phones destroys our creativity as well as productivity. I am not saying one should not use mobile phones. You should but in a constructive way not in a destructive way. Many people start their morning staring at their phone. This robs you of your personal freedom. Also when we do something which gives us pleasure a hormone is released in our brain called dopamine. Every time the phone beeps and we check it this hormone is released. If the dosage of hormone is extreme you will not feel happy anymore . This is a serious issue and can lead to depression.
The main thing is you have to start managing your morning routine in order to get maximum out of your day and keep moving forward. If you will manage your first and last hour properly the rest of the day will manage itself and you will feel like a winner. Also this will keep you motivated and will produce the hunger of achieving more. Here are the steps in which you can enhance your morning:
1. Start waking early: You should consider start waking up early. By waking early you will get more time to work on your goals. Start by waking up at least 15 minutes before the normal time at which you wake up. I personally think that one should wake up at 4 or 5 in the morning. It will benefit you no one will be there to disturb you. You would be awake while whole world is sleeping and this will be your best time.
2. Make your bed: If you do not make bed after waking up then you should start making it. If you want to rock your day you should make your bed after waking up. I know this is irrelevant but if you make your bed it is a success. So you are starting your day with success and if you think about this you really get motivated. Also if you had a rough day you will be pleased that you have made your bed and can sleep without any worries.
3. Be Grateful: After you make your bed then pray. You should be grateful that you woke up this morning. You should be grateful that you had a good rest. You should be grateful that your loved ones were safe and sound at night.
4. Exercise: Once you complete your prayer you should start exercise. Do some stretching to comfort the tight muscles and do some high intensity training in which you will sweat. Due to this a hormone will be released in the body called BDNF. This hormone will not only wake you up fully but will electrify your focus and energy, amplify your self-discipline and will launch your day in a way that makes you feel on fire.Also don’t forget to hydrate yourself. It will help you remain focused.
5.Reflect: I think one should start meditating as it will reduce the level of cortisol in your body. Cortisol is a stress hormone which destroys our peace of mind. High dosage makes keeps our body in hyperactive state which is bad for our health. Just meditate for 5 to 10 mins. It will help you a lot. Also take a journal or notebook and write three things for which you are grateful everyday. It enhance your positivity.
6. Manage your last hour of day: This is not related to your morning routine but managing your last hour of day is as important as managing your first hour. Before an hour of your bedtime shut down all the gadgets. The blue rays which come from the screen of our phones degrade our quality of sleep. Also you should sleep for at least 6-8 hours every night. In this hour you have some family time or read books or listen to a podcast. Just remember before going to bed mediate for atleast 10 minutes. It will enhance the quality of your sleep.
Remember do the things which 99% people don’t do in order to be in that top 1%.
Lastly I would like to quote a line said by Muhammad Ali, “I hated every minute of training. But I said ‘Don’t quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’”
