Hey Guys!
My name is Dev and today I am going to talk about change.
Our lives are constantly changing. Each and every second everything around us is changing. You see, change is inevitable. And if we want to survive in today’s world we have to constantly change ourselves each and every day of our life. Many people adapt to changes and many don’t. The people who don’t change are the people who suffer the most and have so much stress. In olden times when there was no medicine people used to die. But now after the discovery of medicines very small proportion of people die. This is because we adapted to change in which doctors treat. In short, those who have changed with time have survived and the people who have not changed have suffered a lot.
I am going to tell you a story on change. The story is set in a maze where four characters lived who would run through the maze in order to find cheese to nourish themselves and make themselves happy. Among these four characters were two mice named Sniff and Scurry. And the other two were little people named Hem and Haw. They would run in search of cheese almost everyday to survive. The little people used to complicate things just like many of us do when a change hit us. They would over complicate smallest of things and overthink most of the time.
Once when Hem and Haw were running through the maze in search of cheese, they found cheese station C. This cheese station was special to them as it was the biggest cheese station they had found and was filled with various types of cheese. It was as if they were in heaven. After eating the cheese they went back to their home. Around the same time the mice also found the cheese station C. But this time little people were not there. So the mice thought that they found it first. The little people came to cheese station C everyday. But as the time went by the amount of cheese stated depleting. The little people did not notice that the cheese was depleting faster as they were in their comfort zone. The mice came everyday and took some amount of cheese with them.
One day when little people came to cheese station C, they noticed that cheese was not there. It was vanished. They started thinking about who would do this instead of getting ready to find another cheese. They started grieving about cheese. The mice knew that one day the cheese will be completed so they were not grieving when they saw that cheese was not there. They went again into the maze in search of cheese. After some time, they found cheese station N which was much larger than cheese station C and filled with more cheese as compared to cheese station C.
Hem and Haw were still sitting at cheese station C grieving instead of taking action. But after sometime Hem stood and said that if they want to survive they have to run through maze in search of cheese. But Haw said that they should wait. Hem started walking towards the maze and after few days he finally found cheese. Haw was still at cheese station C waiting for help.
Well the four characters signify four types of people. Sniff signify the people who smell the change before it come and prepare for it in advance. Scurry signify people who take action quickly when change comes. Hem signify the people who change themselves after they suffer from change. And finally Haw signifies the people who never change.
To conclude I would say that change is inevitable. Change comes in everybody’s lives and when it comes you have to decide which character you want to become. I would say that wake everyday thinking that today a change will happen in my life. Also those who constantly improve themselves make changes everyday in their lives. The fact is everybody wants change but very few have the guts to change.
