Be Tough!

Hey Guys!

My name is Dev and I am going to talk about mental toughness.

Today when we see around ourselves we see a lot of people who are unfit, demotivated and filled with a load of melancholy. People cry over petty things which they will forget sooner or later. They are controlled by their emotions and take steps without thinking. I know that we all face failures and loss in our life. But it is the reality life. If you face a failure and you are crying over it, then you are hurting yourself as it’s not going to change the reality. It is just going to get harder. In short we are surrounded by soft people who really need to toughen up.

You have to overcome every failure you face in your life in order to grow and achieve success. It will take time but you have to put in your efforts, sleep less, wake up early. All this will compounded in long term and you will be proud of yourself one day. Overtime your self esteem will be through the roof and you will take each failure as a lesson and slowly you will start becoming mentally tough. But remember you should also consider becoming physically tough. It will help you overtaking many situations. By saying physically tough I don’t mean that you should start lifting weights. You have to stay fit so that you can hustle like there’s no tomorrow.

Once you are driven about your goal you will not be distracted. You will do all the things which will help you to achieve your goals and you will become invincible. But in order to do all of this you have to start becoming mentally tough. If you don’t want to do a certain activity that is good for you do it anyway . Just command your self to do it. If you will ask yourself you will never do it. You can try the 5 second rule. Count from 5 to 0 and after saying 0 launch yourself and start doing the work. For example, in the morning if you don’t want to get out of the bed start counting from 5 to 0. After saying 0 launch yourself and get out of bed. You can apply this 5 second rule on any activity. It will help you overcome procrastination.

There are a few ways which can help you in enhancing your mental toughness. First one is cookie jar method. In this whenever you are down and don’t have the energy to do that thing just think that what have you done to reach the current point. By thinking this you will gain some courage and you will have more energy to do the task. Another method is to write down all the tasks which when you do makes you feel uncomfortable on a paper. Now do one of those tasks everyday. For example, if you feel uncomfortable to study for long hours then just do it almost everyday. This will increase your study time. During those study sessions don’t use phone or anything that distracts you from your studies. Another one is to make a to-do list every morning and try to achieve those goals.

There are many people who have achieved a huge level of mental toughness like David Goggins , Bear Grylls , MS Dhoni, etc. This people have suffered a lot in their life but they never stood back and kept on going. Also secret to success is to keep on going until and unless you achieve your goal.

Also mediating for at least 10-15 minutes daily will contribute in your mental toughness in long term. Also meditation has many benefits including improving your focus and concentration. Meditating also to increase the volume of grey matter in our brain that is it helps us to enhance our brain power. Meditation de-clutters your mind and keeps you active. It will reduce cortisol(stress hormone) levels in your body.

Lastly I just want to say that try to improve yourself and become mentally tough because the world out there is a dark place and nobody gives a damm about you. At last you are only going to rescue yourself from all the troubles.

Thanks for reading!
